Karate Training

Friendly, traditional karate training for ages 8+, from complete beginners to experienced students.

St Martins Karate Carnforth provides friendly karate training in Carnforth for children aged 8+, teenagers and adults.

Classes are structured to help students develop technique, fitness, confidence and understanding at their own pace. Training is adapted to suit age, experience and ability, with beginners working alongside more experienced students in a supportive environment.

Exercises to prepare the body for training, improve mobility and help develop balance and coordination.

Practice of punches, kicks, blocks, stances, combinations, kata and partner work, appropriate to experience and ability.

Training that develops stamina, strength, concentration, discipline and confidence.

Beginners are always welcome, and the first two lessons are free.

Beginners do not need to buy specialist equipment before their first class. Comfortable clothing that allows easy movement is suitable for a free trial.

Wear comfortable clothing such as a T-shirt and tracksuit bottoms or leggings. You do not need a karate suit for your first lessons.

If you decide to continue, we can advise you about buying a karate suit and club badge.

Bring a bottle of water. Any training equipment needed during the class will be provided.

Students progress at their own pace, developing their technique, knowledge and confidence through regular training. Gradings provide an opportunity to demonstrate progress and work towards the next belt level.

Students are only entered for grading when their instructor feels they are ready.
